Airplane Taking Off

Hi, for those of you who do not know me...
My name is Jami Smith and I am about to graduate from Valdosta State University with a major in Music.  Four years ago my life changed.  For the first time I saw that there had to be more purpose to life, and found that purpose to be only found in a relationship with Jesus Christ.  One night during my first semester, I recognized that we were all created to find fulfillment in God but we search apart from Him in many other things that the world offers...for me relationships, popularity and money.  However, God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, who lived the perfect life and died to atone for my sin.  I deserved hell, but by God's grace He has given forgiveness through His Son, so that any who would trust in Him would not only be given eternal life, but abundant life now.  He has shown me the depths of His love and nothing can compare to life with Him now.

I have been using every summer since then to learn more about how to study the Bible and share my faith.  This last summer I was given the opportunity to travel to Thailand to share my life with the college students there and also learn about their language and culture.  Each day we would meet new students.  I also got experience with teaching English.  Then in July the team came back.  As I was trying to work on a second major in Spanish, one of the full time staff, Shannon Collins came back to the US to visit family and also visited me.  She asked if I would like to come back, but this time...a year.  So after much prayer and counsel, I felt God telling me to go!!!  So now I am raising support to go back.
